Why Telegram Premium is not working
When Telegram Premium isn't working, check five things: the Telegram account you are on, the App Store or Google Play renewal, whether Premium is available in your country, your app, and any gift link. Fix the cause before paying again.
Start with the account and the store subscription: both take a minute to check.
Premium is on another Telegram account
Premium belongs to one Telegram account, not to a phone or an app. If you switch between several accounts in one app, only the account that paid has Premium.
Changing your phone number keeps Premium, because the subscription is tied to the account, not the number.
A subscription can't be moved to another account. A second account needs its own subscription.
The App Store or Google Play renewal failed
If your card is declined at renewal and you don't add a new one, Telegram's Premium terms say the subscription is canceled. Google Play warns about the same outcome for declined payments.
Check the status in the store, not in Telegram. On iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store > profile picture > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
Make sure the store is signed in to the Apple ID or Google account that paid. If Premium is still missing, Apple suggests restoring purchases from inside the app, restarting the device, and then contacting the developer or Apple if you were charged.
Two Telegram accounts on one Apple ID or Google account
One Apple ID or Google account can hold only one active Premium subscription at a time. A second Telegram account can't subscribe through the same store account.
Telegram's answer is @PremiumBot: buy Premium for the second account through the bot in an app that supports it.
Premium is not available in your country
Local laws can block Premium in some countries. It can also be missing where Telegram's payment providers don't operate.
When Premium is blocked for an account, Telegram's apps hide the Premium buttons and badges altogether, so there is nothing to tap.
One feature is missing
Premium works fully in Telegram's official apps for Android, iOS, Desktop and macOS. Telegram X and third-party apps may not support some features.
Update the official app first. New Premium features can reach some apps later than others.
Downloads are still slow or ads still show
Premium removes Telegram's own download speed limits. If downloads stay slow, Telegram points to your connection, your internet provider or your device as the likely cause.
Premium hides Telegram's sponsored messages. Promotional posts that channel admins publish themselves still appear, because Telegram doesn't control them.
Two less common causes
You canceled earlier. Premium then runs to the end of the paid period and switches off, and extras such as folders beyond the first 10 get locked.
The account was banned for breaking Telegram's terms. Premium gives no protection from a ban, and Telegram does not compensate the lost subscription.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Telegram Premium not showing?
Most often the app is open on a different Telegram account. Premium shows only on the account that bought it, on every device where that account is signed in.
Why did Premium stop after the renewal date?
The renewal payment probably failed. Without a working payment method the subscription is canceled; check it in your store subscriptions.
Why is @PremiumBot not working for me?
Your app is most likely the App Store or Google Play build, which can't use the bot, or Premium is unavailable where you are.
Can I move Premium to another Telegram account?
No. Telegram doesn't transfer subscriptions between accounts. Changing the phone number on the same account keeps Premium.
