How to Buy Telegram Gifts

Step by step: regular gifts for Stars in the app, and collectible gifts in Telegram's marketplace or on Fragment, Getgems, Portals and Tonnel.

Two ways to buy a Telegram gift

To buy a regular gift, open the recipient's profile in Telegram, tap ⋮ / ⋯ > Send a Gift, pick a gift and pay with Stars. To buy a collectible gift, choose the Collectible filter in the same menu, or buy it on Fragment, Getgems, Portals or Tonnel for TON.

Regular gifts come only from Telegram's catalogue. Collectibles are sold by their current owners, so every listing has its own price.

Step 1: get Stars

Gifts in Telegram are paid for with Stars. You can buy Stars through an in-app purchase on iOS or Android, through @PremiumBot in Telegram Desktop, Telegram Web or the direct Android version, or on Fragment for Gram (TON's coin, called Toncoin until June 2026).

Example: on 10 October 2026 Fragment sold a package of 1,000 Stars for $15, about 10.3 Gram. Stars you buy cannot be sold or withdrawn, so buy what you plan to spend.

Step 2: buy a regular gift

A regular gift comes straight from Telegram's catalogue.

If a gift cannot be bought, it has sold out, you have reached its limit per user, it needs Premium, or it goes on sale at a later date.

  • Open the recipient's profile and tap ⋮ / ⋯ > Send a Gift.
  • Pick a gift and check its price in Stars.
  • Add a message if you like, choose whether to hide your name, and decide whether to prepay the upgrade so the recipient can turn it into a collectible for free.
  • Confirm the payment. The gift arrives in the recipient's chat as a service message.

Step 3: buy a collectible in Telegram

Telegram's built-in marketplace sells collectibles from other users for Stars or TON. Open any profile, tap ⋮ / ⋯ > Send a Gift and select the Collectible filter; you can also browse it from Settings > Send a Gift. Filter by model, backdrop or symbol, open a gift and check its number and price. Since August 2026 you can add a signature and a comment to a gift you buy there.

If the gift you want is not for sale, make an offer: open it, tap ⋯ / ⋮ > Offer to Buy, and set a price in Stars or TON and a time limit. Your payment is reserved. If the owner declines or the offer expires, it is refunded in full; if the owner accepts, Telegram transfers the gift to you automatically.

New limited gifts are sold at auctions. You bid in Stars over several rounds: the top bids of each round win a gift, lower bids carry over to the next round, and bids left at the end are refunded.

Buy on Fragment

Fragment (fragment.com) sells collectible gifts as NFTs on the TON blockchain. You pay in Gram from a TON wallet.

The seller pays Fragment 5% of each sale; you pay the price plus a network fee of about 1 Gram. A gift bought there is an NFT in your wallet. To show it on your Telegram profile, use Transfer to Telegram under My Assets; Getgems' help says Fragment requires KYC for that step.

  • Install a TON wallet such as Tonkeeper or MyTonWallet and write down its recovery words.
  • Top up the wallet with Gram. Fragment's gift pages suggest an exchange or @wallet in Telegram.
  • On fragment.com tap Connect TON and approve the connection in the wallet.
  • Open Gifts, choose a collection and the For sale filter, then open a gift. Its page shows the model, backdrop and symbol with their rarity, the owner's wallet and the ownership history.
  • Tap Buy and confirm the transaction in the wallet. The gift arrives in that wallet.

Buy on Getgems

Getgems (getgems.io, or @GetgemsNftBot inside Telegram) is a TON NFT marketplace with a Telegram gifts section. Connect a TON wallet, open a gift, tap Buy and confirm in the wallet. Keep at least 0.3 Gram above the price for network fees; most of it comes back after the transaction.

Gifts on Getgems come in two states. An on-chain gift is an NFT that goes to your wallet. An off-chain gift stays on Telegram's servers and is tied to your Getgems profile; you can withdraw it to Telegram or mint it into an NFT later. The seller pays Getgems 2% on Telegram gift sales.

Buy on Portals or Tonnel

Portals (@portals) and Tonnel (@tonnel_network_bot) are marketplaces that run as mini apps inside Telegram. You top up an in-app balance with TON, buy a gift, and it lands in your inventory in the app. To get it onto your Telegram profile, withdraw it.

Portals takes 2% from the seller since 10 July 2026. In some countries it also accepts local payment systems; gifts bought that way are locked for 7 days.

Since 27 September 2026 Tonnel charges 0.5% in total: a 0.25% referral fee and a 0.25% protocol fee. Switch off Internal Purchase to receive a bought gift straight in Telegram. Returning a gift from Tonnel later costs 0.1 TON for up to five gifts a day.

Before you pay

Check four things before you confirm:

  • The exact gift: collection, number, model, backdrop and symbol. Gifts from one collection have different prices.
  • The total: the price plus the network fee and any withdrawal fee. On Telegram, Fragment, Getgems and Portals the marketplace fee comes out of the seller's share.
  • The destination: your Telegram profile, a marketplace inventory or a TON wallet.
  • The address: open marketplaces from their official bot or by typing the domain yourself, never from a link in a private message.

How do I buy gifts on Telegram?

Can I buy Telegram gifts with TON?

Yes, collectible ones. Fragment, Getgems, Portals and Tonnel take TON, now called Gram. In Telegram itself you can make an offer in TON, and some sellers price their gifts in TON. Regular gifts from Telegram's catalogue are paid in Stars.

Where is the cheapest place to buy a Telegram gift?

It depends on the gift: compare the total cost of the same gift on each marketplace. Fees as of 10 October 2026: Tonnel 0.5% per trade, Portals 2%, Getgems 2%, Fragment 5%. On Portals, Getgems and Fragment the fee comes out of the seller's share, so a buyer pays the listed price plus network fees. GiftsWatch shows Fragment floors, updated several times a day.

Why can't I buy a gift in Telegram?

The gift has sold out, you have reached its limit per user, it is available only with Premium, or it goes on sale at a later date. New limited gifts may also be sold only at an auction.

Do I need a crypto wallet to buy Telegram gifts?

Not for Stars purchases in Telegram: its catalogue takes Stars, and its marketplace takes Stars or TON. Fragment and Getgems need a TON wallet. Portals and Tonnel use a TON balance inside their mini apps.
