How to estimate the total cost of upgrading a Telegram gift
The upgrade decision combines two different values: the original catalog price of the gift and Telegram’s upgrade fee. This calculator converts their total from Stars into an estimated USD and TON reference.
Telegram gift upgrade cost formula
The original gift price and the upgrade fee are added in Stars. That total is multiplied by the selected USD-per-Star reference, then converted to TON with the current server-cached TON/USD price.
Total Stars = original gift price + upgrade fee. Estimated TON = total Stars × USD per Star ÷ USD per TON.
Original cost is not current market value
The catalog price shows what the gift originally cost in Telegram; it is not a live resale quote. The collection floor is a separate stored marketplace reference and may reflect different models, attributes, item numbers and seller expectations.
A positive difference versus the collection floor should not be read as guaranteed upgrade profit.
What to verify before upgrading
- Confirm the exact upgrade fee shown for your gift inside Telegram.
- Use your effective Stars purchase cost if it differs from the stored reference.
- Check current listings for the collection and relevant models.
- Allow for marketplace fees and the possibility that the gift will not sell at floor.
Why the selected model matters
Upgrading creates a collectible with attributes that can trade above or below the broad collection floor. A model-floor comparison is more specific than the collection floor, but even a model match does not fully account for backdrop, symbol, rarity combinations or liquidity.
How to interpret the comparison
Use the TON estimate as a common unit for comparing the entered Stars cost with the stored floor. It is a reference-cost comparison, not expected value: the calculator does not predict which attributes an upgrade will receive, what buyers will pay, or how fees will affect a later sale.
