Tonnel Review: Telegram Gift Marketplace, Fees and Delivery

What Tonnel is

Tonnel Marketplace is a Telegram gift marketplace that runs as a mini app inside the @tonnel_network_bot bot. You buy and sell collectible gifts there for TON from an in-app balance. It launched in January 2025.

Tonnel Network, the project behind it, describes itself as a zero-knowledge privacy protocol on the TON blockchain. The gift marketplace is one of its products, and its announcements come from the @tonnel_en channel. On 10 October 2026 Telegram showed 125,722 monthly users for @tonnel_network_bot.

Depositing gifts and TON

To sell a gift, send it from Telegram to @giftrelayer, the account Tonnel uses to receive gifts. Tonnel asks users to save @giftrelayer as a contact. In November 2025 it warned about a fake copy named @giftrelayer_1.

To move many gifts at once, connect @tonnel_network_bot as a Telegram Business bot and send up to 20 gifts in one go. Right after you connect it, the real bot sends a confirmation message. If none arrives, Tonnel says you added a scam bot and should remove it. Disconnect the business connection when you finish.

You can also send an exported NFT gift to list it. Top up your balance with TON. Since 9 October 2026 Tonnel accepts deposits and withdrawals through Telegram's built-in wallet: you send TON to @giftrelayer in Telegram. While this is in testing, such withdrawals are limited to 10 TON.

Tonnel's own channel advises against using the marketplace as a vault for your funds. Withdrawals of more than 100 TON need biometric confirmation on your device.

Buying and the Internal Purchase setting

When you buy on Tonnel, the Internal Purchase setting decides where the gift goes. With it on, the gift stays in your Tonnel inventory, ready to resell. With it off, Tonnel sends the purchased gift to your Telegram account.

Tonnel suggests Internal Purchase for gifts you plan to resell. The gift is not transferred, so its export timer does not restart.

To buy, open the market, filter by collection and attributes, then buy at the listed price, make an offer or bid at an auction.

Tonnel fees

Tonnel announces its fees in its channel. Current and past rates:

  • Trading fee: 0.5% in total since 27 September 2026, split into a 0.25% referral fee and a 0.25% protocol fee.
  • 13 July to 27 September 2026: 0% marketplace fee plus a 0.5% referral fee. Tonnel said then that holding its own token, TONNEL, lowers the fee.
  • Returning a gift to your Telegram account: 0.1 TON for up to five gifts a day, then the standard 0.25 TON (announced 14 December 2025).
  • Free delivery when you buy a gift worth more than 16 TON with Internal Purchase off (announced the same day).
  • Earlier rates: 2% plus a 2% referral fee from June 2025, then 3% plus a 3% referral fee from July 2025.

Ways to sell on Tonnel

Besides a fixed-price listing, Tonnel offers several ways to sell:

  • Offers and counter-offers: the buyer's money is locked when they make an offer. You accept it, reject it or counter with a higher price.
  • Auctions.
  • Dutch auction (since July 2026): the price drops by a set percentage at set intervals until someone buys or it reaches your minimum.
  • Dump (since July 2026): select up to 10 gifts and get one quote built from the highest buy orders and offers. Accept it to sell at once.
  • GiftHub (since September 2026): buyers can make offers for gifts in the profiles of people who have opened Tonnel. Each offer carries an anti-spam fee of under 0.5 TON.

Other Tonnel features

Tonnel also runs peer-to-peer loans backed by gifts: 30% APR, terms of 1 to 30 days and loans of 10% to 40% of the collateral's value. A borrower who does not repay can lose the collateral.

It also has Tonnel UNO, a four-player card game whose cards show Telegram gifts. It has a free room and a room where each player stakes one Lol Pop gift and the winner takes all four. A charity page lets people collect gift donations.

How Tonnel differs from other gift marketplaces

The main differences are the fee and where your gift ends up:

  • Portals: also a mini app with an in-app balance. Portals charges 2%, Tonnel 0.5% in total. On Tonnel you choose delivery to Telegram at purchase with Internal Purchase off.
  • Telegram's marketplace: priced in Stars or TON inside the app. Tonnel trades in TON and keeps gifts in its own inventory until you return them.
  • Fragment and Getgems: they trade gifts as NFTs from your own TON wallet. Tonnel holds your gifts and TON inside the app.
