How to gift Telegram Premium
Open the person's profile in Telegram, tap ⋮ / ⋯ > Send a Gift and choose Telegram Premium for 3, 6 or 12 months. Pay in your local currency or with Telegram Stars. The gift arrives in your chat at once and does not renew.
The same menu opens from Settings > Send a Gift, where you pick the contact from a list. You can also buy a Premium gift with crypto on Fragment.
Telegram's Premium FAQ says a subscription cannot be transferred to another account, so to cover someone else's Premium you send it as a gift.
Step by step in the Telegram app
Start from a chat you already have with the person, so you pick the right account. Look for the Premium badge next to their name first: Telegram's API documentation describes the Premium gift for users who do not have a subscription yet.
- 1. Open their profile and tap ⋮ / ⋯ > Send a Gift.
- 2. Choose Telegram Premium and a term: 3, 6 or 12 months.
- 3. Add a message if you want one.
- 4. Choose whether to pay in your currency or with Stars, and check the total.
- 5. Confirm. They get a gift message with the term, and the subscription starts on their account.
Gift Premium with Telegram Stars
Since March 2025 you can pay for a Premium gift from your Stars balance. Open the profile, tap ⋮ / ⋯ > Send a Gift, choose Premium and pick the price in Stars.
This suits Stars you already have, for example from gifts you converted or from Star Messages. Stars you buy for it cost money too, so compare the Stars price with the price in your currency on the same screen.
Gift Premium on Fragment with crypto
Fragment sells Premium for yourself or another user, paid from a crypto wallet. Go to fragment.com/premium/gift, enter the recipient, choose 3 months, 6 months or 1 year and pay in TON, USDT or USDC.
On 10 October 2026 Fragment listed 3 months at $11.99, 6 months at $15.99 and 1 year at $28.99, with the TON amount shown next to each price.
Can you gift Telegram Premium for 1 month?
No. Premium gifts come in 3, 6 or 12 months, both in the app and on Fragment. Monthly billing exists only for a person's own subscription, which they start in Settings > Telegram Premium.
How much a Premium gift costs
Telegram shows the price of each term before you pay. Gifted subscriptions use one global rate, so they can be sent to and from any country, and prepaid terms come at a discount.
Because of the global rate, a gift can cost a different amount from what the recipient would pay for their own subscription at local prices. When the gift ends, they can switch to a local subscription.
What the recipient gets
They get every Premium feature on their account, on all their devices, for the full term. When it ends, the account returns to free Telegram and nothing is charged.
A gift also adds boosts: the recipient gets 1 boost and you get 3 for your own account, which you can give to a channel or group.
The recipient does nothing to activate the gift. If someone asks for a login code or a fee to activate a Premium gift, it is a scam.
People can turn off Premium gifts in their privacy settings. If Premium is not offered for a contact, that is a likely reason.
Premium for a channel's subscribers
Channel admins can give Premium to subscribers in a giveaway. Open the channel profile > Channel Settings > Statistics and Boosts > Boosts and start a giveaway; Telegram picks the winners and sends each one a gift link.
Each subscription in a giveaway gives the channel 4 boosts. Paying through @PremiumBot or Fragment costs less than through the app stores.
How to buy Telegram Premium for yourself
Open Settings > Telegram Premium and subscribe through the App Store or Google Play. In the direct versions of Telegram for Android, Desktop and macOS you can use @PremiumBot instead; it is cheaper because Apple and Google fees do not apply.
You pay monthly or yearly, and the yearly plan is discounted. Through @PremiumBot, the first payment is in the currency of your phone number's country; later payments follow the country of your card.
Premium covers one account on all its devices. Each account needs its own subscription, and one Apple ID or Google account can hold only one, so buy extra ones through @PremiumBot. To pay with crypto, buy a prepaid term for your own account on Fragment.
If @PremiumBot does not work for you, either Premium is not available in your country or your app was installed from the App Store or Google Play.
To cancel, use the provider you paid: send /stop to @PremiumBot, or open subscriptions in Google Play or in iOS Settings. Deleting the app does not stop billing, and Premium stays until the paid period ends.
