Where to cancel Telegram Premium

Cancel Telegram Premium with the service you pay through: Apple Subscriptions on iPhone, Google Play on Android, or /stop in @PremiumBot. Premium stays on until the paid period ends.

Not sure which one bills you? Look for the receipt. An Apple or Google receipt means the store; a payment made inside @PremiumBot means the bot.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad

Apple bills Premium bought in the iOS app, so the cancel button is in your iPhone settings.

  • Open the Settings app and tap your name.
  • Tap Subscriptions, then Telegram Premium.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down to see it.
  • No Cancel Subscription button, or an expiry date in red? Apple says the subscription is already canceled.

Cancel on Android

Google bills Premium bought in Telegram for Android installed from Google Play.

  • Open play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, or in the Play Store app tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  • Select Telegram Premium.
  • Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
  • Not in the list? It may sit on another Google account on the phone. Switch accounts and look again.

Cancel a @PremiumBot subscription

@PremiumBot sells Premium in Telegram for Android downloaded from telegram.org, in Telegram Desktop and in the macOS app. To stop renewal, open @PremiumBot and send /stop.

Deleting your Telegram account also ends @PremiumBot payments, since there is no account left to charge. The unused part of the period is not refunded.

What happens after you cancel

All Premium features keep working until the paid period ends. Then the account drops back to free limits. Telegram locks the extras instead of deleting them.

Everything that was free before you subscribed works as before.

  • Folders: the first 10 keep working, the rest are locked.
  • Pinned chats: the first 5 stay pinned, the rest are unpinned.
  • Bio: only the first 70 characters stay visible.
  • Saved GIFs: anything beyond 200 is hidden.
  • Usernames: you keep them, but can't create a new public one while you own 10 or more.
  • Channels and folders: you stay where you are, but can't join more channels or add chats to folders.
  • Downloads return to standard speed, and the Premium badge disappears.

Things that do not cancel Premium

Uninstalling Telegram leaves the subscription running. Billing continues on the usual renewal date.

Deleting your Telegram account does not stop an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in Apple or Google settings first, or the store may keep charging.

Gifted Premium has nothing to cancel. It is prepaid for 3, 6 or 12 months and ends on its own.

Can you get money back?

Usually not from Telegram. Its Premium terms say payments are generally non-refundable, and canceling early does not return the unused days.

App Store and Google Play charges follow the store's own rules. Apple takes refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com. Google Play says a refund may be possible within 48 hours of purchase; after that it sends you to the developer.
