What a Telegram gift gives
A Telegram gift is an animated item bought with Stars. The recipient can show it on their profile, hide it, or convert it to Stars within 7 days by default.
Once upgraded it becomes a collectible with a unique look and number. Collectibles can be worn as an emoji status, transferred, sold on the marketplace or moved to the TON blockchain.
Some gifts are limited editions, and some can be bought only by Premium users.
How to send each one
Start from the recipient's profile in Telegram.
- Telegram gift: tap ⋯ or ⋮ > Send a Gift, pick a gift and add a message.
- Premium paid with Stars: tap ⋯ or ⋮ > Send a Gift and choose a Premium option.
- Premium paid with money: Premium subscribers can use the Gift Premium button on the profile.
How to choose
Pick Premium for someone who sends large files, reads chats in other languages or keeps hitting free limits. Those features matter most to daily users.
Pick a gift for an occasion or for someone who collects. It stays on the profile long after a Premium term would have ended.
Gifting Premium also gives you 3 boosts for a channel or group, and the recipient gets 1.
