Can You Withdraw Telegram Stars?

You can't withdraw Telegram Stars you bought. Channel and bot owners and paid-message earners withdraw earned Stars via Fragment at $0.013 per Star.

Can Telegram Stars be withdrawn?

You can't withdraw Stars you bought: Telegram's terms forbid selling, withdrawing or transferring them. Earned Stars are different. Channel and bot owners, and users who charge Stars for messages, can withdraw them through Fragment to a TON wallet.

Telegram values an earned Star at $0.013, so 1,000 Stars are worth $13. Fragment works out the payout in Gram (TON's coin, called Toncoin until June 2026) at the market rate.

Which Stars can be withdrawn

What matters is where the Stars came from, not how many you hold.

  • Bought Stars (in the app, through @PremiumBot or on Fragment): no withdrawal. They can only be spent.
  • Channel revenue from paid posts and Star reactions: the channel owner can withdraw it.
  • Bot and mini app revenue: the bot owner can withdraw it.
  • Paid messages: users and groups that charge Stars for messages can withdraw those Stars 21 days after earning them.
  • Converted gifts: Telegram's Stars terms place these Stars under the creator rewards terms, together with paid-message Stars.

How to withdraw earned Stars

Only the owner of the balance can start a withdrawal: you for your own paid-message Stars, the owner for a channel or bot. Turn on two-step verification first: Telegram asks for that password.

Check the wallet address twice. Telegram's creator terms say a withdrawal to the wrong wallet can't be reversed or refunded.

  • Channel: open its profile, then Statistics > Monetization. Bot: open its profile, tap Edit, then Balance. Paid-message Stars: you start the withdrawal from your own account, and it also goes through Fragment.
  • Choose to withdraw and enter your two-step verification password.
  • Telegram opens a unique Fragment link for this withdrawal.
  • Enter the address of your TON wallet and confirm.

Waiting time, minimum and other limits

These rules come from Telegram's creator and developer terms and its API documentation.

  • Waiting time: earned Stars become available for withdrawal 21 days after you receive them.
  • Minimum: the documented default is a balance of at least 1,000 Stars.
  • Expiry: earned Stars are valid for 3 years. Stars not withdrawn by then are forfeited.
  • Country: Fragment may be unable to pay rewards to some users or in some countries.
  • Taxes: creators pay any taxes and fees on their rewards themselves.

How much you get

Telegram's terms for bot developers and channel creators value each earned Star at $0.013. Telegram sets this value itself and says it can change.

Spending earned Stars on Telegram Ads for the same channel or bot gives more: each Star counts as $0.02 of ad credit.

The reward value has no fixed link to the price people pay to buy Stars. Buying Stars and withdrawing them are separate calculations.

What to do with Stars you can't withdraw

Bought Stars stay in your balance until you spend them. Use them for gifts, purchases in bots and mini apps, paid media, support for creators, or a Premium gift for a friend.

Telegram's terms forbid selling Stars from your balance, and breaking the terms can lead to a ban. Selling Stars to someone who offers cash for them breaks those terms.

If you delete your account or lose access to it, Telegram treats the remaining balance as forfeited.
